For some nurses, volunteering has become part of their job description, and they’ve also had to take on some new responsibilities, such as helping to maintain equipment.
And while volunteering has been a part of many nurses’ lives for years, there’s also a growing concern for its safety.
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is now accepting calls about suicide prevention.

“I know people who’ve had their lives turned upside down because of that.
People who have lost their jobs,” said Julie Hensley, a nurse and former president of the American Nurses Association.
“People who have had to move their homes because they had to keep going because of the staffing shortage, people who had to be home at times of crisis.
The stress and the fear is just so great.”
A survey by the National Alliance on Mental Illness found that nearly half of registered nurses said they felt the stress of being on call at least once a week.
Some nurses say the stress can be so high that they sometimes stop taking care of patients, which can be costly for patients.
“The anxiety and the depression can be very intense,” said Jennifer Johnson, a registered nurse in Louisville, Kentucky.
“I don’t think we’re really getting enough support to really help them to recover.
We’re just too far behind.”
But there are many other nurses who are taking advantage of the volunteer opportunities.
The American Nursers Association says there are over 3 million nurses in the United States, and many are choosing to volunteer.
There are some organizations that provide volunteer opportunities to help them get back to their normal lives.
One organization that has been working with registered nurses is the National Nurses Health Association.
The organization runs the Volunteer and Emergency Response Program, which provides nurses with financial help to help get them back on the job.
“We have an online tool to help our members get back into their regular routine, and that includes providing financial support for their travel and other expenses,” said Barbara Smith, director of the Volunteer Response Program.
She said they have seen volunteers come back to the office and work on the phones, or even go on their own vacations.
“And some of our members have been in situations where they’ve actually been able to come back into the office to work, and even take care of their own children,” Smith said.
There is a wide range of support programs available for registered nurses, including financial assistance, counseling, and social service support.
The most common support is for family members, and there are also job referral programs.
The most challenging part is getting back on your feet and getting back to your job.
The National Alliance says it is taking care to provide free, confidential mental health counseling to all registered nurses.
They are also providing a 24-hour hotline for people to report potential workplace violence.
They also offer support groups for registered nurse parents.
“They’ve got a lot of resources that we’ve seen in the past that have been helpful,” said Heather Pomerantz, a Registered Nurse Health Association board member.
“But they also are trying to educate our members to understand the role that they play in our community and how to make themselves more safe.”
As nurses continue to volunteer, many are also volunteering as mentors.
“There are a lot more nurses than ever before, and more of them are looking for help.
And we’re seeing that,” said Dr. Michael Cisneros, director at the VA Health Care Center in Fort Collins, Colorado.
“It’s definitely not just for nursing.
There are a variety of occupations that require nurses.”
There are also many volunteer opportunities in nursing schools.
There is a National Nurse Leadership Program, and a nursing leadership group is working to improve the visibility of the profession.
The U.S. Nurses Council is also a part that helps registered nurses develop a resume, but the organization says it’s not a substitute for training.
“It’s not going to be enough to get you a job,” said Beth Cisnero, the president of U.N.N., which is working with nursing students to create a national resource about the profession for nursing educators.
“We want to be a leader in nursing education, but it’s also about making sure that nurses are well-rounded.”
Nursing schools can offer the best training, but that can be difficult for some who don’t want to work in a traditional setting.
