Volunteer firefighter Cali Garcia says she hopes her skills and experience will help save more lives.
The 32-year-old, who has volunteered in the Marin County Fire Department for two years, said she wants to help the fire department find the people who need help.
“I’ve been in the trenches for the last six months.
I’ve seen so many of them burn to death,” Garcia said.
“I’m really excited about this job.
I love what I do.”
Garcia said her job is different than most.
She is a firefighting technician and she does not have to carry a shield.
“That’s why I’m so passionate about this,” Garcia told KTVU.
“It’s a different way of doing things.
I feel like I can help people.”
Gina Garcia is an experienced volunteer firefighter in the firefighting community.
She said she is excited to help with the fire investigation.
“It’s been pretty rough,” Garcia admitted.
“You can’t really imagine it, but the community is devastated.”
The Marin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the fire is under control.
