A volunteer firefighter was killed when his truck crashed into a parked vehicle in Kansas on Friday, the Kansas City Fire Department said.
The volunteer was responding to a call about a person on the ground near the intersection of Hwy 40 and E. 4th Street when the crash occurred, the fire department said in a news release.
The person on fire was transported to a hospital in critical condition, and he is in critical but stable condition, the department said.
The crash occurred about 3 p.m.
Friday near the entrance to Hwy.
The fire department does not currently have information on the condition of the person who was in the truck.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
